Girona Free Walking Tour
Gerona Free Walking Tour
We'll meet at 11 am in Plaza de Cataluña in Girona, where we'll discover the city's Roman origins. Then we'll head into the old town to explore the Jewish Quarter and visit the Cathedral. Did you know it had the widest Gothic nave in the world?
Next, we'll head down Calle de la Fuerza, one of the busiest streets in Girona, and reach the Pujada de Sant Domènec, one of the most emblematic places in the city. We'll also pay a visit to the Lioness of Girona, a stone sculpture that dates back to the 12th century!
We'll stop to admire the Church of St. Felix and stroll through the Plaza de la Independencia. And we won't leave without visiting the Mercadal district, full of charming terraces and restaurants.
The romantics among us will love visiting the Puente Gómez and Puente de la Princesa bridges! We'll also stop at the Puente de las Pescaderías Viejas to hear about its creator, Gustave Eiffel. Who'd have known Gerona and Paris have something in common?!
Lastly we'll walk along the Rambla and across the historic Plaza del Vi to reach the Town Hall, where our free tour will end at around 1 pm.
