Blumenau & Pomerode Excursion
Blumenau & Pomerode Excursion
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Itajaí at 8:30 am and take the Rio Itajaí-Açu highway to Blumenau. On the way, you'll get a taste of the Germanic architecture that characterizes the area as we pass through the towns of Ilhota and Gaspar.
Then, we'll arrive in Blumenau, a city founded by German immigrants that still preserves many European customs. In fact, the world's second-largest Oktoberfest is held here!
To honor Germany's brewing tradition, we'll visit the Beer Garden, before continuing on to see the Town Hall, formerly a train station, and the Cathedral of São Paulo Apóstolo. We'll also enter the Vila Germânica, the park that hosts Oktoberfest, and make a stop for you to have lunch on your own.
Afterward, we'll head for Pomerode, another town of German origin. We'll enter the city through the Portal Wolfgang Weege, one of its main attractions and most photographed spots. Then, we'll visit a typical porcelain workshop, the Immigrant Museum, the zoo and the Vila Encantada, where we'll discover the prehistoric past of this area of southern Brazil.
We'll conclude the excursion with a visit to a craft brewery, where we'll be able to taste the exquisite local beer. Finally, we'll return to Itajaí and drop you off at your hotel around 5:30 pm.
