After disembarking from your cruise ship, you'll head to the Greka Land shop, located at the exit of the cruise terminal. From here, we'll board an air-conditioned bus toward Ancient Olympia, where you'll admire the countryside landscapes along the way. Are you ready to visit the birthplace of the Olympic Games?

We'll arrive at the archeological site of Ancient Olympia after a comfortable 30-minute journey. Upon arrival, we'll provide you with a device to access the audio guide in English so you can discover the fascinating history of one of Greece's most important archeological sites. Here, you'll admire the remains of the oldest temple of Olympia, the Temple of Hera, dedicated to Hera, queen of the Greek gods. You'll witness the spot where the Olympic fire is lit and carried to all parts of the world!

You'll also have the chance to visit the Temple of Zeus, which was home to the renowned statue of Zeus, once listed as a Seven Wonder of the Ancient World. This temple was the design of classical Greek temples in the Doric order.

As you continue exploring Ancient Olympia, you'll find the Bouleuterion of Ancient Olympia. This was the assembly house of ancient Greece, where the representatives of the council of citizens would decide about public affairs. Here, you'll learn how the Bouleterioun played an important role in the administration of the ancient Olympic Games.

You can also stand in the ancient venue that hosted the first Olympic athletes, the famous Olympia Stadium! Can you imagine what it was like for the athletes of ancient Greece to compete here? Not only will you have access to an audio guide—you'll also have a chance to find out what Ancient Olympia was like in the past with a virtual reality app! You'll see the ruins come to life, gaining a deeper understanding of the architecture, ancient rituals, and the games. 

After visiting the archeological site, you can explore the nearby village of Olympia for souvenirs, local crafts, and a quick meal. You can also enjoy the charming seaside village of Katakolo before returning to the bus. Finally, after 4 to 5 hours, we'll take you back to the cruise terminal, where we'll conclude this day trip at the starting point.
