Leticia Amazon 1 or 2-Day Trip
Tour Details
The lush rainforest is always full of surprises. To experience it firsthand, we’ll depart from your hotel in Leticia and head to the outskirts of the jungle to begin a hiking route through the Amazon.
During a 3-hour hike, Indigenous guides will explain the uses and properties of the plants we encounter along the way: medicinal, edible, decorative… there are dozens of different varieties!
At the end of the walk through the Amazon rainforest, a traditional maloca awaits us, the classic wooden dwelling used by local Indigenous tribes. The Indigenous leader will welcome us with traditional chants and share the wisdom of their people. We’ll learn about the crops that sustain community life and the respectful relationship they maintain with nature.
During the experience, we’ll take part in daytime and nighttime walks, with the chance to spot birds, monkeys, and, after nightfall, fascinating creatures such as tarantulas or scorpions. We’ll also cool off in jungle lakes and practice traditional fishing, experiencing the true essence of the Amazon up close.
The food will be another cultural encounter, as we’ll try typical dishes and take part in the preparation of mambe, a spiritual food that, according to local tradition, provides strength and wisdom.
After the meal, we’ll return to the maloca for a closing talk in which the community will share a message of unity, respect, and gratitude, sealing an authentic and unforgettable experience in the heart of the Amazon.
Finally, we’ll head back to Leticia, where we’ll say goodbye and drop you off at your hotel after a total of 9 hours of tour.
Spending the Night in the Maloca
If you’d like to spend 1 night in the maloca, you can choose the 2-day tour. In this case, after lunch and some rest time, we’ll set off on a nighttime hiking route through the Amazon. During this 2-hour walk, we’ll learn to identify some of the plants sacred to the tribe, such as mambe.
After this walk, we’ll return to the maloca for dinner and to sleep in a hammock with a mosquito net or inside an ancestral house.
In the morning, after breakfast, we’ll begin the return journey to Leticia. We’ll arrive at your hotel at 11 am.
