Beaumaris Castle, Newborough Beach and many other Welsh wonders await you on the island of Anglesey. Discover them all on this trip from Llandudno.
Anglesey Island Trip
The landscapes of Wales are full of fascinating places to discover. We'll meet at 8.30 am and set off from North Parade in Llandudno. After a 15-minute drive, we'll arrive at our first stop: the legendary Conwy Castle. As we admire this spectacular fortress from the Conwy estuary, we'll find out about some of its fascinating history and mysterious legends.
We'll continue the tour to the Menai Suspension Bridge: the connection between the north-west coast of Wales and Anglesey Island. Following the road on the other side, we'll reach the picturesque village of Beaumaris. Here we'll visit Beaumaris Castle, a magnificent historical building that remained unfinished.
You'll then have an hour of free time to have some lunch in Beaumaris before we head to our next stop: Church Island, where we'll admire the incredible 15th-century St Tysilio's church.
The next stop will be at one of Anglesey Island's most important archaeological sites: the prehistoric site of Bryn Celli Ddu. At this ancient burial chamber, we'll learn about the beliefs about death during the Neolithic period.
Just a 20 minute drive away is Llanddwyn Island and Newborough Beach, where we'll enjoy extraordinary views of the Anglesey coast.
As a final touch, we'll take a quick snap next to the Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch railway station. No, we haven't dropped the keyboard! This town has the longest name in Europe. After a short break in (we're not writing it again), we'll make our way back to North Parade in Llandudno, arriving at around 6:30 pm.
