Why Visit the Royal Collections Gallery?

Located between the Royal Palace of Madrid and the Almudena Cathedral, the Royal Collections Gallery is an extraordinary museum dedicated to the Spanish Crown.

With this ticket to the Royal Collections Gallery, you'll be able to visit the museum's permanent collection at your own pace. The tour begins on floor -1, where you'll see a short introduction to the Trastámara dynasty, the lineage of the Catholic Monarchs. In this section, the portrait of Isabella the Catholic, the work of Juan de Flandes, stands out.

The tour of this floor continues with the rooms dedicated to the monarchs of the House of Habsburg: Charles I, Philip II, Philip III, Philip IV and Charles II. Among the most important pieces are the armour of Charles I, a canvas of a riderless white horse by Diego Velázquez and the sculpture of the archangel St Michael's victory over the Devil, a work by La Roldana. Floor -1 also houses the archaeological remains belonging to the oldest section of the Arab wall of Madrid.

On floor -2, you'll find the exhibition dedicated to the kings and queens of the House of Bourbon: Philip V, Louis I, Ferdinand VI, Charles III, Charles IV, Ferdinand VII, Isabella II, Alfonso XII and Alfonso XIII. In this section, you'll see furniture, clocks, tapestries and paintings from the 18th century, as well as a 19th century royal carriage and royal photographs from the early 20th century.

From the Royal Collections Gallery you can also enjoy magnificent views of the Manzanares River and the Campo del Moro gardens, whose paths are also worth a stroll.

Madrid Royal Palace Tickets

If, in addition to visiting the Gallery, you would also like to visit the Royal Palace of Madrid, you can book the option that includes entry to both complexes. In this case, you'll visit the largest palace in Western Europe at your own pace, where you'll find the Main Staircase, the Throne Room, the Gasparini Room, the Royal Chapel, the Royal Pharmacy and other rooms and rooms decorated to the taste of the different Spanish monarchs who have resided in this palace, from Charles III to Alfonso XIII.

You can also opt to buy a ticket to the Royal Palace of Madrid without visiting the Galleries if you have less time.

Types of Ticket

When booking, you can opt for one of the following types of tickets:

• Basic fare: this option applies to adults who cannot benefit from any kind of discount.
• Reduced fare: this ticket applies to children aged 5 to 16, seniors over 65s and students up to 25. For this, the corresponding supporting documentation must be presented.
• Free admission: valid for unemployed people, disabled people, members of large families and children under 5. In all these cases, the corresponding documentation must also be presented.

Please note that these rates are higher than the box office prices, as they include a handling fee of between € 3 (US$ 3.46) and € 6 (US$ 6.92) per person, which will guarantee you a spot and avoid the need to wait in line.

Ticket Validity

If you book the option that includes the ticket to the Royal Palace of Madrid, please note that the selected time will be for the visit to the Palace. The entrance ticket to the Royal Collections Gallery will be valid for 7 days from the date of the visit to the Royal Palace of Madrid and cannot be used from Monday to Thursday between 6 pm and 8 pm.
