Day Trip Details
We'll meet at the exit of the Atarazanas metro station, and from this location in Málaga, we'll set off in a minibus toward the interior of the province.
After about 45 minutes, we'll reach the Caminito del Rey, a spectacular set of walkways hanging over 328 ft ( 100 m) over the gorge of Los Gaitanes. For 3 hours, we'll explore these trails on foot, which were inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII in the 1920s and reopened for tourism in 2015.
During our tour of the Caminito del Rey, which will be in a small group of a maximum of 10 people, we'll see the beautiful scenic views of the river and the Guadalhorce dam from its walkway, as well as the Sierra de Huma. This unique space is in the Paraje Natural del Desfiladero de los Gaitanes. You'll love its captivating landscapes!
After finishing the tour of the Caminito del Rey, you'll have 15 minutes of free time in its Visitor Center to go to the bathroom or have a snack. Then, we'll return to the minibus to start our 30-minute journey toward Álora, one of the most beautiful towns in the Málaga region of the Valle del Guadalhorce.
Once we reach this town, we'll embark on a walking tour of Álora. For 1 hour, we'll visit the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, one of the largest churches in the province. Next to this temple, you'll find the Museo Municipal Rafael Leria, dedicated to the local heritage. We'll also visit the Castillo de Álora, a large Arab fortress of Phoenician origin.
After the guided tour of Álora, we'll finally return to the starting point in Málaga, where we'll conclude this day trip after 7 hours.
