Palma de Mallorca Guided City Tour Itinerary
On the morning of your tour, you'll be picked up from the agreed meeting point from 8:30 am onwards ready for your panoramic city tour around Palma de Mallorca, the capital of the Balearic Islands.
Your guided tour will begin in the Cathedral district, visiting the seafront Parc de la Mar. Enjoy a peaceful stroll in this lovely green park, which is nestled between the majestic cathedral and the Bay of Palma.
Wander up to the magnificent Palma Cathedral, also known as La Seu. This enormous golden-stone Gothic cathedral, on which construction began in 1229, remains impressively well-preserved as if no time has passed at all. Its sheer size and incredible beauty are truly captivating.
After admiring the Cathedral, you'll delve deep into the historic centre of Palma in the direction of the Mercat de l'Olivar. As you walk through the streets, your guide will reveal the importance of the different places of interest that you'll pass en route, like the Plaça Major, or Main Square, that was home to the headquarters of the Inquisition until 1823.
Arriving at Mercat de l'Olivar, you'll wander amongst the countless traditional market stalls, taking in the vibrant colours, smells and tastes of the typical delicacies and fresh produce on sale as you rub shoulders with the locals. This is undoubtedly one of the must-visit spots on any trip to Mallorca.
The last stop on your guided city tour of Palma de Mallorca will be at Castell de Bellver, which is considered to be the oldest circular castle in Europe. Here, you'll have incomparable panoramic views of the city, the port and the Sierra de Tramontana, thanks to its hilltop vantage point. The perfect place to snap unforgettable photos of Palma.
Your tour of Palma will come to an end around 2 pm, returning to the Cathedral district, where you can choose between being dropped back off at your hotel, or staying in the city centre to continue exploring at your own pace.
