Join us on our Creston Island Hiking Trip and visit the home of the world's tallest lighthouse. You'll also see incredible views of Mazatlán from one of Mexico's most breathtaking natural spots.
Creston Island Hiking Trip
At 8 am we'll pick you up from your hotel and set off for Creston Island. From there, we'll start our hike towards the Mazatlán Lighthouse. Let's go!
We'll head towards the summit as we walk up almost 2,500 feet (754 metres) of winding paths. Along the way, we'll stop to admire the views from five viewpoints scattered along the ascent. One of the viewpoints has a 66 foot (20 metre) long glass walkway so you can gaze out at the Pacific Ocean from a truly unique perspective.
Once we're at the top, you'll have an extraordinary panoramic view of the Olas Altas Beach, Venados Island, Chivos Island and the Sierra Madre Occidental. Make sure to look closely at Mazatlán Port, where many battles took place during the Second French Intervention in Mexico.
The Mazatlán Lighthouse stands atop a hill with a spotlight that illuminates the coastline for 35 miles (57 kilometres). It's considered the highest natural lighthouse in the world due to its location at 152 metres above sea level. Did you know that it originally consisted of lit torches on a small temple?
Our hike will end back at your hotel at 11 am, 3 hours after our departure.
