Tour Details

Meet us at your selected meeting point before heading south of Mexico City to Coyoacán, one of the capital's oldest neighborhoods. Renowned as the residence of historical figures such as Leon Trotsky, Octavio Paz, Diego Rivera, and Frida Kahlo, this area holds significant cultural importance.

As we arrive in the neighborhood, we'll make a pit stop in case you want to buy some breakfast, ensuring we're well-energized for a day full of history! Here, we'll also learn how silver is made in Mexico.

Upon reaching Coyoacán, our tour will delve into its thousand-year history, tracing back to the settlement of the first communities in the high plains of Mesoamerica. We'll explore its evolution into a seat of power following the arrival of the Spanish.

Strolling through cobbled streets and picturesque squares, we'll enjoy the impressive 16th-century baroque mansions that characterize the area. Then, we'll head to the Universidad Autónoma de México to admire the majestic architecture of the largest university in Latin America.

Next up is a visit to the Frida Kahlo Museum, located in the famous Casa Azul. We'll delve into the intimate universe of the Mexican artist, visiting the house where she was born, where she did much of her work, and where she died. Afterward, we'll take a break at the university and you'll have time to buy some lunch at a local restaurant.

The tour will then continue onwards to Xochimilco, where we'll encounter a spectacular blend of natural and cultural heritage. Aboard a trajinera (a small traditional boat adorned with flowers), we'll set off through the network of canals and artificial islands, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Then, a day full of history, culture, and adventure, we'll return to the meeting point, bringing our activity to an end.

Tour with Hotel Pickup

With this option, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Mexico City at the scheduled time and, once everyone’s ready, we’ll begin the itinerary described above. At the end of the tour, we’ll take you back to your accommodation.

Pickup is included for hotels in the Polanco, Reforma, Roma-Condesa, and Historic Center areas. If you’re staying in another area, you’ll need to make your own way to the meeting point at the Cancino Cibeles restaurant.

Tour with Lunch

With this option, you will enjoy a more complete experience! In addition to the above itinerary, where we'll also visit the Frida Kahlo Museum, you'll have a regional lunch included in a local restaurant upon arrival in Xochimilco, consisting of Mexican or international dishes.

Lunch will consist of Mexican or international dishes, according to your taste, and you can try some local delicacies!

Budget-Friendly Option

A more budget-friendly tour option is available, and pickup points are offered throughout Mexico City. The tour includes the same itinerary, except it skips the visit to the Frida Kahlo Museum. Instead, after a lunch break in Coyoacán, we'll go to Xochimilco to admire the landscapes and enjoy a ride in a trajinera.

Finally, we'll make a brief stop at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México to take in the characteristic murals before returning to the meeting point in Mexico City.
