Memory and Tolerance Museum Guided Tour
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Benito Juárez Hemicycle, one of the most emblematic monuments in Alameda Central. From here, we'll walk a few minutes until we reach the Memory and Tolerance Museum, where we'll begin this significant guided tour.
The museum, inaugurated in 2010, is a unique space in Latin America that covers some of the darkest chapters of the 20th and 21st centuries, including the Holocaust, the genocide in Rwanda, Armenia, Cambodia, Yugoslavia, and the War in Darfur. Through an immersive tour, you'll enter rooms where images, sounds, and reconstructions will make you experience the history from a perspective of empathy and reflection. Did you know that many of the museum's exhibitions are designed to be experienced more than just observed? This museum will truly captivate you.
During the visit, you'll also explore the section dedicated to tolerance, diversity, and human rights. This part of the museum is an interactive tour that invites visitors to challenge stereotypes, recognize privilege, and promote a fairer coexistence. Digital panels, artistic installations, and sensorial experiences will help you better understand concepts like discrimination, equity, and social justice in an up-close and transformative way.
After this tour of the museum, we'll head to Alameda Central again for a short group discussion. We'll share our impressions, insights, and feelings during the tour. It'll be an opportunity to share our thoughts and collectively close this experience outdoors.
Finally, we'll say our goodbyes after 2.5 hours.
