Xochimilco, Coyoacán and Frida Kahlo’s Red House Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Mexico City to begin this exciting route through some of the most iconic places in the Mexican capital.
Our first stop will be Xochimilco, home to the city’s ancient canals. There, you’ll board one of its famous trajineras, a traditional boat, to enjoy an unforgettable 2-hour journey. The festive atmosphere will be provided by a mariachi group, who will perform a song just for you, creating a moment that connects with the country’s celebratory spirit.
We’ll continue to Coyoacán, without a doubt one of the most charming and traditional neighborhoods in the city. There, we’ll take a 1-hour walk through its picturesque streets and colonial houses, stopping at the iconic Plaza Hidalgo, Jardín Centenario, and the exterior of the San Juan Bautista Parish.
After this walking tour, you’ll have around 1.5 hours of free time at the lively Coyoacán market, where you can have lunch and sample some of the most delicious local dishes.
With renewed energy, we’ll continue the tour to Frida Kahlo’s family residence: the Kahlo House Museum, popularly known as the Red House. Once inside, we’ll walk through its rooms, discovering personal items, photographs, early works, and the most intimate spaces of the iconic Mexican artist’s life.
To put the finishing touch on this experience, you’ll enjoy a tasting of freshly made churros before heading back to the hotel.
Finally, we’ll take you back to the starting point, where we’ll say goodbye after a total of 8 hours.
