Pantanal Safari
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Fazenda San Francisco to begin this safari around Pantanal. Once there, we'll hop into our open-top 4x4 and begin touring these trails filled to the brim with biodiversity. We'll see the native forests in Pantanal and the rice fields, and visit the area where the farm's cattle are kept.
During the safari, you'll be told many interesting facts about the native flora and fauna in Pantanal. We'll see examples of plants such as the Tuscan fig tree, the white fig tree, the acuri palm tree, the pink ipê tree, and the angico tree. We'll also spot animals such as deer, capybaras, caimans and several types of birds. Keep your eyes peeled, because if we're lucky, we might even get to see some anteaters, tapirs and the majestic Brazilian jaguar.
After between 2 and 2.5 hours, we'll return to the farm to enjoy a lunch consisting of rice, beans, salad, fish and meat. Delicious!
Once we've eaten, we'll take a boat ride along the Corixo São Domingos, part of the Miranda River. During this, we'll have the chance to check out the birds that inhabit this area such as kingfishers, cormorants, herons and hawks.
In addition to the birds, this region is also home to other types of animals, and with a bit of luck, we might also get to see caimans and otters. Before this tour comes to an end, we'll take part in a traditional fishing activity on the Corixo São Domingos.
Finally, we'll say our goodbyes back on the farm, where the trip will come to an end after 8 hours.
