The tour meets at 1 pm in the Montepulciano piazza Grande, where we welcome you aboard the minibus and begin te tour!
Crossing the Orcia Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we'll arrive at our first stop, a cheesemaker in the Pienza region. That's where they make one of the most famous varieties of pecorino cheese in Italy.
Here we'll learn about the artisans who dedicate their day to day life to the production of this Tuscan delicacy. Every step of the way, from caring for the sheep to the eating, we'll discover the different steps of the production of this delicacy. And of course, we'll learn to differentiate the various types of pecorino with a delicious tasting!
Next it's on to Montepulciano, to visit a winery. Have you heard of nobile wine? This protected denomination comes only from this region of Italy, and is truly exquisite, as well as being one of the oldest varieties in the country. We'll explore the winery itself, where it's made and aged, before trying a glass of this and another variety to compare.
The tour then finishes back at the start point, at 4 pm.
