Uruguayan BBQ Experience in Montevideo
Activity Details
Are you in the mood for an authentic culinary experience in the heart of Montevideo? We’ll pick you up from your hotel and take you to a family home where the grill is the star of special meals and the conversation around it is almost ceremonial.
As soon as you step inside, the atmosphere will welcome you with the characteristic warmth of Uruguay. A set table, comforting aromas, and the promise of flavors prepared with skill and tradition await. Before tasting the food, we’ll talk about the history of the Uruguayan BBQ, a heritage of rural life and the gaucho way of living. We’ll learn about its essential elements, from the embers, knives, and cutting boards to the ritual of respecting the cooking time of each cut of meat.
The host of the house, a passionate cook and great storyteller, will guide us through the essential ingredients of the BBQ. Selected cuts, the right amount of salt, and the gentle smoke that enhances the flavor without overpowering it will make you feel part of a culture with real character.
After the gastronomic experience, we’ll return to your hotel in Montevideo, where we’ll say our goodbyes 4 hours after pickup.
