Napier & Hastings Tour
Tour Details
We'll meet at the i-site Information Center to climb on board a comfortable vehicle and start our tour of Napier and Hastings. Ready to discover New Zealand's capital of Art Deco? Let's go!
Our first stop will be at the National Tobacco Company Building, one of the city's most iconic buildings. This site is known for its refined architecture and the details reflecting Napier's rebirth after suffering from an earthquake. It'll leave you breathless!
We'll then continue toward Ātea a Rangi Star Compass, a place where you'll learn about the first explorers who discovered New Zealand by following the stars.
Next, we'll pass by the CBD Art Déco, where you'll admire the murals and colorful facades that have made Napier an open air museum. Did you know this city has one of the largest urban art collections in New Zealand? During the tour, we'll also visit the area of Marine Parade, where you'll find the Millennium Sculpture and the Spirit of Napier sculpture, symbols of the city's resilient spirit.
Plus, we'll explore the Art Deco district in Marewa and the historic Port Ahuriri, a charming fishing town that preserved the charm of old Napier. Get ready to listen to curious stories and anecdotes about how this place has evolved throughout the years!
Before returning to our meeting point, we'll stop at Arataki Honey to learn about the local honey production and enjoy its sweet aroma.
Finally, we'll say our goodbyes after a total of 3 hours.
