Indigenous Tribe Bag-Making Workshop
Activity Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and set off on a journey into the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. In this incredible natural landscape, an indigenous community awaits us.
After a walk of about 30 minutes through trails full of vegetation, we'll arrive at the village. Get ready to be captivated by the tribe's traditional attire, way of life, and the rich symbolism woven into every aspect. Engage in conversations with them to learn their ancestral customs and deep-rooted traditions. Among these traditions is the art behind these woolen bags!
Our hosts will show us the whole process of making the typical bags of their community. Crafting these bags is no light process—it's a real labour of love, infused with all kinds of philosophy. After the fun workshop, we'll visit the surrounding area and pass through avocado, mango, yucca and banana plantations.
At noon, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by the community. Afterwards, you'll have the opportunity to meet the animals that are part of the family: pigs, chickens, dogs and owls. Finally, we'll take you to a sacred well, where you can treat yourself to a well-deserved dip in the tranquil waters.
Finally, we'll return to the departure point, where we'll say our goodbyes are a total of 8 hours.
