Options

When booking, you can choose between the following options. Both start at the door of the Palafoxiana Library. Below, you can see the details of each option:

Altar Visits

At the appointed time, we'll meet at the door of the Palafoxiana Library, a meeting point that anticipates the cultural richness we'll experience during our tour of Puebla.

From here, we'll begin a walking tour through the heart of the Historic Center of Puebla to discover how this city pays tribute to its deceased through altars filled with symbolism, tradition, and emotion.

Our first stop will be a colonial mansion carefully decorated for the occasion. There, we'll admire the first altar of the tour. Marigolds, incense, candles, paper cutouts, and personal items will reveal the profound meaning of the Day of the Dead. Did you know that each of these elements has a symbolic purpose on the altar?

We'll continue walking through the charming streets of Puebla, stopping at different cultural sites and traditional courtyards where altars have been set up that will move you with their beauty and respect for the memory of the deceased. During the tour, we'll reveal the secrets and traditions behind each offering.

After visiting the five selected altars, we'll say goodbye in the Zócalo of Puebla 2 hours later.

Pan de Muerto Workshop

Once we've gathered, we'll head to an artisan workshop where we'll get our hands dirty making our own pan de muerto (bread of the dead).

While we knead, we'll discover the history of this iconic bread roll, the symbolism of its shape, and the traditional ingredients that make it an essential part of this festival recognized by UNESCO. And best of all: when we're done, you can eat your bread!

Finally, after about 2 hours of work, we'll say goodbye with this good taste in our mouths.
