Folkloric Tour
What to Expect
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Salta, kicking off our tour of places associated with the local musicians and poets deeply connected to the rich regional folklore of northern Argentina.
Our journey will take us past iconic sites in Salta, like the renowned Balderrama, the Paseo de los Poetas, and the 9 de Julio square, where we'll encounter the Gustavo "Cuchi" Leguizamón statue. After exploring the history surrounding this influential artist, one of Salta's foremost folk music composers, we'll proceed to the Pajarito Velarde Museum. This museum pays homage to one of the key advocates of Salta's folk culture.
Next, we'll go on a tour of Salta's primary folkloric peñas situated along Balcarce Street. At one of these venues, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture, learning the basic steps of gatos, chacareras, zambas, and other lively traditional dances.
After an enriching 3-hour journey, we'll end the tour at the folkloric peña of your preference. Here, you can enjoy dinner at your leisure and dance the night away. Please note that the transfer back to your hotel in Salta is not included.
