San Lorenzo Bike Tour

When you make your reservation, you can opt for one of the following bike tours. All tours start at the indicated time from Juan Carlos Dávalos street in the centre of San Lorenzo and include a English–speaking guide and bike and helmet rental.

Arteaga Gorge Tour (2 hours)

From the centre of San Lorenzo we'll go to a water reserve located next to the Las Costas farm.

Once there, we'll start a peaceful bike tour through the Arteaga ravine. We'll cycle through a beautiful rural area that stands out for its crystal clear streams and the lush nature of the montane forest.

Timetable: Every day at 10 am and 3 pm.

Potrero Grande Tour (3 hours)

This cycling route goes through the area of Potrero Grande, a beautiful place protected by the mountains of the province of Salta.

We'll ride through the Selva Montana, where we'll see a multitude of Salta's botanical species such as laurels and walnut trees. We'll also see different kinds of epiphytes or air plants such as bromeliads and orchids. As we'll see for ourselves, the scent of these plants will be very pleasant during the whole cycling route.

We'll also pass through different pastures where we'll see how the characteristic Argentinean horses of the province of Salta feed. The abundance of native resources makes this ecosystem the perfect habitat for these animals.

Uriburu + Cordillera Oriental Tour (7 hours)

This tour will be the most difficult route, but it will all be worth it to enjoy the incredible views and natural scenery of Salta.

First we'll go to Uriburu, at the foot of the Eastern Cordillera, and from there we'll start the cycling tour. The first section of this cycling route will run along the mountain range that surrounds San Lorenzo. Then we'll ride along the river of the Astilleros creek and climb up to 2200 metres (7218 feet) through steep slopes. It's not for the fainthearted! 

Before returning to the starting point, we'll take a break in the area so that you can recharge your batteries with the food you have brought with you - don't forget your picnic!
