Activity Details

After picking you up at your hotel at the designated time, we'll set off to the Calchaquí Valleys until we reach the area of Tafí del Valle. Get ready to spend a day immersed in nature, searching for Andean condors!

For 1.5 hours, we'll cross the Aconquija National Park, climbing up a winding road where the green landscapes slowly become thicker, a sign that we're reaching the forest of yungas. We'll then reach the Monument to the Calchaquí Indian, where we'll stop to admire the views from a lookout. Keep your eyes peeled, you might see the first condor!

Later, we'll reach El Mollar, on the shores of La Angostura Lake, where we'll stop for approximately 1.5 hours. The calming environment will be the perfect place to observe and photograph some riparian birds, among which the great egret, the Andean duck, the black-faced ibis, and other species stand out.

Then, we'll set off to the town of Tafí del Valle. We'll spend about 1.5 hours here, so you can enjoy lunch at your own pace with the mountains as a backdrop.

Next, in about 20 minutes, we'll reach the Cerro del Infiernillo. At this spot, we'll stop for 45 minutes to 1 hour at one of the highest points of the journey, standing at 9,842 ft (3,000 m) above sea level, where the landscape will be wilder and the sky clearer. It'll then be time for the star moment of the day: spotting the Andean condor, the king of the sky, soaring in search of food.

You'll admire its elegant presence while it flies! We'll also share how in ancestral Andean culture, the condor is a symbol of wisdom and strength. Here, in its natural habitat, you'll understand why.

Finally, we'll begin our journey back and drop you off at your hotel after 9 hours.
