Join this excursion to Florli from Stavanger and take part in the unique experience of climbing 4,444 steps up the mountain. Do you dare to climb the longest wooden staircase in the world?
Florli 4444 Hike
Bright and early on the morning of your excursion, the guide will pick you up from the meeting point in Stavanger, where you'll embark on the 45-minute journey by air-conditioned vehicle to the Lauvvik Pier.
From Lauvvik, you'll catch the tourist ferry across the Lysefjorden, a majestic 26-mile (42 km) long fjord in southwestern Norway. From the boat, you'll enjoy excellent views of one of Norway's most popular natural tourist attractions, Preikestolen or Pulpit Rock, where Tom Cruise filmed the sixth Mission Impossible film in 2017.
Arriving in the village of Florli, it'll be time to prepare yourself for the great adventure of the day. Ready to climb the longest wooden staircase in the world? 4,444 steps up the mountain await you!
The estimate time to climb to the top is 3 to 4 hours, and if you decide you don't have the strength to do the whole thing, there are several places to stop where a professional guide will help you and take you back to Florli. What's more, there are plenty of platforms where you can rest during the climb, and there's even a cafe! Reaching the top is well worth the effort for the breathtakingly beautiful views over the fjord.
The descent back to Florli is much easier than the climb, although you must remember to pay attention during the walk, as there are lots of small rivers and steep slopes to navigate throughout the journey. At the end of our hike, we'll enjoy dinner before returning to Stavanger for around 8 pm.
