Discover the Crossroads of Cultures: Tangier - Where Two Continents Meet!

On the day of the activity, we’ll pick you up at the meeting point of your choice at the indicated time. Once aboard our vehicle, we'll set off on a journey around some of Tangier's best landmarks. Our first stop will be at the bay or the corniche of Tangier, where we'll first see where the Mediterranean and Atlantic meet. We’ll marvel at the panoramic views of Tangier City from the Mediterranean side.

After taking in spectacular views of the city, we’ll make our way to the main street of Tangier to admire the city from within. As we navigate the lively main street, we’ll witness how the rhythm of local life pulsates through the bustling marketplaces, cafes, and historic sites. We’ll then drive along Boulevard Louis Pasteur, where we’ll see the French influence on the city. After that, we’ll see the Wall of Lazy People; can you guess where its name came from? Another magnificent site we'll see is the Mohammed V Mosque, built in 1983.

Our journey will then take us through a residential area, the California section, and Perdicaris Park, a public park covering 70 hectares. Next, we’ll reach the northwesternmost point of the African continent, Cape Spartel. This 150-year-old lighthouse sits about 300 metres (1,000 feet) above sea level at the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar, where the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean join. While at Cape Spartel, we’ll have time for some tea or coffee.

After admiring the breathtaking views from Cape Spartel, we’ll head down to the beach and embark on a camel ride! Once we've met the friendly dromedary camels, we’ll enjoy a relaxing ride surrounded by the stunning Moroccan scenery.

As we get off the camels, we’ll find ourselves at the caves that lie beneath Cape Spartel, Hercules Caves, which date back to 2500 B.C.! We’ll learn all about the history of the cave. Did you know that it’s part natural and part man-made?

Following the visit to Hercules Caves, we’ll drive to the highest point of the new part of the city to enjoy stunning views. Then, we’ll drive through the Merchance Neighbourhood as well as pass by the Roman cemetery.

Finally, after 4 hours of sightseeing and learning about Tangier’s history, we’ll drop you back to your accommodation. Until next time!
