Gladiator School

At the Ludus Hadriani Gladiator School you'll have the chance to learn the ancient Roman flighting techniques at the hands of expert instructors. This is a class like no other!

First of all, you'll explore the school's museum which houses a collection of unique items related to the world of gladiators. An instructor will help you learn all about these items so that you fully understand and immerse yourself in this world.

Next, it's time to go from theory to practice and enjoy a gladiator training session. For two hours you'll be coached by experts as if you were an authentic gladiator, the most famous athletes in Rome.

You'll be completely kitted out with a helmet, arm and leg protectors and a shield and you'll learn how to use wooden swords and even heavy weapons such as the gladius. By the end of the day you'll be a true gladiator, and to prove this, you'll receive a Signaculum (a type of gladiator diploma). Can you think of a more authentic ancient Roman experience?

Important information

Children under the age of 5 can come to the school, but they will not be able to take part in the gladiator training session.
