Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in the capital of Tunisia to set off to the north of the country. Are you ready for a day trip filled with history, natural landscapes, and charming corners? Let's go!

After an approximately 1-hour journey, our first stop will be Útica, a Phoenician settlement with over 3000 years of history that is one of the oldest settlements in northern Africa. Here, we'll go on a tour of about 30 to 45 minutes to explore the Roman forum, the temples, the amphitheater, and the thermal baths. Of course, we can't forget the Waterfall House. This city, founded around the year 1100 B.C., was an ally of Carthage and played a crucial role during the Punic Wars. It'll be a true journey through time!

From here, we'll continue our route, and in 45 minutes, we'll arrive at Ghar el-Melh, a picturesque town with a rich Phoenician, Roman, and Ottoman past. For 30 minutes, we'll explore this ancient strategic port that proudly stands as the first Ramsar Wetland Accredited City in northern Africa. You'll see its marshes and enjoy a lovely drive next to the lake.

Then, we'll head to the heart of Bizerte, 1 hour away. Here, you'll explore Qsiba, the fortified neighborhood that surrounds the port and the historic soul of the city. We'll stroll along its narrow streets with whitewashed houses, until we reach the Venetian-inspired old port. You'll also visit its imposing fortress, which protected the city from marine incursions for centuries. This spot mixes Mediterranean charm with Arab-Muslim heritage!

You'll have 1 hour of free time for lunch before we set off to one of the most emblematic corners of the continent: the Cape Angela. In about 30 minutes, we'll reach this rocky promontory, the northernmost point of Africa. We'll stay here 30 minutes to 1 hour to enjoy the views of the Mediterranean Sea and take pictures. It's the perfect stop for nature lovers!

To wrap up this special day, we'll visit the Ichkeul National Park, a natural paradise declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Here, you'll enjoy a 30-minute hike to a panoramic viewpoint, offering spectacular views of the lake and its surroundings. This sanctuary is home to thousands of migratory birds, such as flamingos, storks, and geese.

Finally, we'll return to Tunisia and say our goodbyes at your hotel about 9 hours after pickup.
