Modernist Valencia Free Tour Itinerary
We'll begin this free tour of Valencia in the central Plaza de la Virgen. From here we head to Casa del Punto de Gancho, one of the most characteristic modernist monuments from the 19th century. You'll discover its imposing facade, decorated with balconies, and the striking sculpture in the main entrance, the identity of which you'll discover on the tour...
From here we head to the St John of the Hospital Church, the oldest church in Valencia and one of the view examples of Romanesque architecture in the city.
And having passed through the Plaza de San Vicente Ferrer (popularly known as Plaza de los Patos - "square of the ducks" - so called for the bronze duck statues which surround the main fountain) and the plaza redonda, we'll continue along Calle de la Paz, a street with any number of grand buildings. Among those which deserve our attention is one extremely special one: the Palace of the Marquis of Dos Aguas, special not only for its rich exterior ornamentation but also the stories hidden behind its walls...
On the last part of the tour we'll head to the town hall square, which might seem familiar to you if you've ever been to the Valencian Las Fallas festival, given that this is where the main pyrotechnic exhibition takes place.
After approximately two and a half hours, we'll finish the tour at the Estación del Norte station.
