Churches, a castle, squares and streets full of history await in Xativa, one of the most important cities in the Valencia Region. Plus, you'll discover the Charcos de Quesa lakes, a natural paradise tucked away in the mountains.
Day Trip to Xativa & the Charcos de Quesa
We'll meet at the Torres de Serranos in Valencia at 9 am to start our journey to Xativa, one of the most historical Valencian cities thanks to the legacy left by the Borgia family.
As soon as we get to Xativa, we'll head into its old quarter, admiring buildings such as the Sant Francesc church, Alracón Palace and the old Covent of the Trinity, founded by the Trinitarian Order in the 13th century.
We'll continue discovering the cultural legacy of Xativa, heading towards Plaza de Alejandro VI, a beautiful square named after Pope Alexander VI, as well as the Sant Pere parish church. Our next stop will be the Collegiate Basilica of Santa Maria, the old Santa Ana royal hospital and the Plaza del Mercado square.
Our visit to Xativa will end with us climbing up to the famous Xativa Castle, a defensive fortress that was key during the Kingdom of Castile. Not only will you get to know about the history of the battles that took place here, but you'll also be able to enjoy the beautiful views that can be seen from its summit.
We'll replenish our energy with free time for you to have lunch at a restaurant in Xativa (not included). After resting, we'll head towards the Charcos de Quesa, a group of naturally formed pools of different sizes and depths situated among the mountains and forests. A true natural wonder!
If the weather is on our side, you'll be able to take a well-deserved dip in these natural pools. Finally, we'll head back to your hotel in Valencia at around 5 pm.
