Castello + Rialto Neighbourhoods Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Riva degli Schiavoni to begin our tour of Venice's largest neighbourhoods. Are you ready to tour Castello and Rialto?
First of all, we'll cross the Bridge of Sighs, to go to St. Mark's Square, the Clock Tower and the Doge's Palace, one of the most important monuments of the Italian city. Seat of the Government and of the Court of Justice, prison, home of governors... We'll tell you about the many uses this place has had!
We'll also see the elegance of the building that houses the Café Florian, one of the oldest in Venice. We'll be dazzled by St. Mark's Basilica, adorned with its golden domes and centuries-old mosaics, witnesses to the greatness of the Venetian Republic.
Afterwards, we'll get away from the crowds to enter the more authentic side of the Castello neighbourhood. We'll walk through the narrow streets, passing the House of Marco Polo, on our way to the Basilica of San Geovanni e Paolo and the Campiello del Remer, which will evoke the Venice of yesteryear.
Amidst anecdotes and curiosities, we'll approach the Rialto neighbourhood and finally reach the Rialto Bridge, the oldest bridge over the Grand Canal. From here, we'll admire one of the most beautiful views of the city, with its gondolas, almost floating palaces and Venetian life in full action.
After a 1.5 to 2-hour tour, we'll end the tour at this last point.
