Zurich National Museum Tickets
Why Visit the National Museum in Zurich?
Located on the banks of the Limago River, next to the Central Train Station, the Landesmuseum Zurich, or Zurich National Museum, is one of the city's main cultural institutions.
With this ticket, you can visit the museum's permanent exhibition at your leisure, which is dedicated to the history and culture of Switzerland. The collection is spread across two main spaces: a neo-Gothic building from 1898 and a cutting-edge extension from 2016.
The first part of the exhibition is dedicated to the history of Switzerland. In its rooms, you'll find pieces of craftsmanship, tools, and everyday objects that will allow you to learn about the country's past, from ancient times to the 20th century. There is also an extensive display of Gothic art, with wooden liturgical sculptures, panel paintings, and carved altars.
What's more, throughout your visit, you'll find specific rooms dedicated to coin collections and stamps, weapons and uniforms, and fashion and textiles. Also noteworthy are the collections of graphic arts, photographs, manuscripts, and other historical documents, as well as the displays of ceramics, glass, and musical instruments.
The museum also has three historical recreation rooms: a 16th-century palace hall, a 17th-century banquet hall, and an 1898 pharmacy. Each of these rooms reproduces the furniture and decoration of the period in great detail.
Don't miss the library at the National Museum in Zurich, where you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of Platzspitz Park.
