Guatemala City Alternative Tour
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up at your hotel and kick off this alternative tour of Guatemala City. We'll hop on a bus to check out the most interesting spots in the country's capital and the surrounding areas. Let's go!
We'll head to the Miraflores Museum, where we'll see a huge collection of archaeological pieces found at the Kaminal Juyú site, an ancient Mayan city dating all the way back to 1200 BC.
The next stop of the day will be at Cerrito del Carmen, where you'll find a Catholic church that has been rebuilt three times. We'll explain why before heading to the historic center of Guatemala City to check out the exterior of the Metropolitan Cathedral. After that, we'll go to the Miraflores Museum to visit its exhibit dedicated to the Mayan world.
We'll take a break at a local restaurant to enjoy a traditional Guatemalan dish along with a drink. Once we've refueled, we'll stroll down 6th Avenue and arrive at Plaza Berlín. From this spot, we'll get an awesome panoramic view of the mountains and volcanoes surrounding the south side of the city. Time for a selfie!
We'll say goodbye between seven and eight hours after starting, arriving back at the original pickup point.
