Discover Buenos Aires' fileteado tradition with this tour of the San Telmo neighborhood. You'll learn everything there is to know about the unique Argentine art form of lettering and drawing, which is found on signs, buses, and cafes all across the city.

Tour Details

We'll gather at the designated time at El Federal Bar, a classic spot in the San Telmo neighborhood of Buenos Aires declared a 'Notable Bar of the City of Buenos Aires'.

We'll embark on a stroll through San Telmo to explore the traditional art of fileteado porteño. We'll visit the San Pedro González Telmo Church, which houses important works by the renowned fileteador, Martiniano Arce. We'll then reach the iconic San Telmo Market, one of the city's most visited spots.

Here, we'll enjoy a snack, which includes a coffee or tea with Argentinian croissants, while a professional fileteador gives us a class to teach us the techniques and secrets of the fileteado. What a great way to master the craft!

After spending 3 to 4 hours together, we'll wrap up our adventure at the San Telmo market.

Partial Closures

Occasionally, the church of San Telmo may be closed to the general public. In those cases, instead of visiting it from the inside, we'll admire it from the outside while we tell you the details related to the filleting tradition.
