Yumbilla Waterfall Tour
Tour Details
We'll pick you up from your hotel at the indicated time to head towards the province of Bongará, north of Chachapoyas.
After a two-hour drive, we'll arrive in the district of Cuispes, where we'll start a low-intensity hike to reach our destination. We'll ascend to an altitude of 895 metres (2936), on a hiking route of one and a half hours, and along the way we'll be able to see the biodiversity of species in this area.
This protected area is the habitat of wild flora species such as orchids, bromeliads and passion flowers; mammals such as the spectacled bear and possums, and a total of 223 species of birds, some such as the endangered spatula-tailed hummingbird.
After 1.5 hours of walking, we'll arrive at the jewel in the crown: the Yumbilla waterfall. This spectacular waterfall of 895 metres (29376 feet) high is, according to the World Waterfall Database, the second-highest waterfall in Peru and the fifth-highest in the world - impressive!
You'll enjoy some free time in this magnificent natural area to rest and take pictures. After a relaxing time in this paradise, we'll move to the district of Cuispes, where we'll enjoy a regional lunch.
After lunch, we'll return to Chachapoyas. Arrival at your hotel is scheduled a total of 7 hours after pickup.
