Activity Details
After meeting at the indicated time at 900 Santa Rosa Street, next to Colón Square, we'll embark on a journey of approximately 2 hours. Before you know it, we'll reach the area of the Pampa de Achala, a unique territory of the High Cordovan Summits.
Upon arrival, we'll head to the refuge to get ready for the horseback ride, and after an introductory talk, we'll start riding. As we ride, we'll make our way towards Quebrada de los Lampazos, about 3 mi (5 km) away. We'll trot along slowly, so that we can marvel at the ochre tones of the valley. We'll ride among hillsides, local vegetation, and rock formations carved by the wind.
During the activity, we'll discover the biodiversity of the area, among which the tabaquillos stand out. These trees, with reddish bark, and maitines, which are very resistant to the cold, represent the area. Once we're feeling hungry, we'll stop at a strategic point in Quebrada de los Lampazos to enjoy lunch, at your own pace, and let the horses rest.
Next, we'll continue with renewed energy and, if we're lucky, we may spot a condor flying over the canyons. We may also come across guanacos or red foxes, stealthy among the trails. Keep an eye on the heights, because birds will always be present, like hawks and caranchos.
Finally, we'll return to the stables and start our way back to the meeting point in Córdoba. There, we'll end this 10-hour tour.
