Drive an off-roading vehicle across Cerro Huyliche and discover unique landscapes, marine fossils, and natural caves. It will be a full adventure aboard an off-roading vehicle!

Activity Details

At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up at your hotel in El Calafate and, after a 10-minute drive, we’ll reach Estancia Huyliche, the starting point of this off-roading adventure. There, we’ll give you the off-roading buggies and provide the necessary instructions to drive them.

We’ll begin this 2-hour route by heading up the paths of Cerro Huyliche through the Arroyo Calafate canyon, following steppe and mountain roads in a caravan. During the ascent, we’ll enjoy impressive views of Lake Argentino, the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, and the Andes Mountains, with privileged views of Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre on clear days.

Once we reach the Upper Balcony, at 1,100 meters (3,600 feet) above sea level, we’ll begin the descent along the southern face of the hill toward the Arroyo Moyano canyon, where the Stone Labyrinth is located. This curious geological formation, carved by the wind over thousands of years, contains marine fossils, unique rocks, and natural caves that make it a perfect place for spectacular photos.

Here, we’ll stop to enjoy hot soup, a snack, and a drink in the middle of nature. Then we’ll continue descending between Cerro Huyliche and Cerro Calafate until returning to the ranch.

To end the experience, we’ll serve a traditional Patagonian meal, which, depending on the departure time, may be lunch, dinner, or an afternoon snack. The menu includes a meat empanada or pumpkin soup, beef stew, and a brownie, while the afternoon snack includes hot drinks with homemade pastries.

Finally, we’ll begin the return to your hotel and say goodbye after a total of 3 hours of the tour.
