See one of the world's most breathtaking and striking landscapes with your own eyes on our Lake Frías Hike & Glacier Boat Trip. You'll cross lenga beech forests and glacial valleys as well as sailing through the Los Glaciares National Park.

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in El Calafate and take you to the Los Glaciares National Park, one of the main natural areas in Argentine Patagonia.

First of all, we'll stop at the Los Pioneros harbour and go on a 1-hour boat trip. The crossing between the glaciers will take us through one of the most beautiful parts of Lake Argentino. We'll get off the boat on the shore of the South Arm, where we'll begin our first hiking route.

Our hike, which has a distance of 1.2 miles (2 km), will end on the shores of Lake Frías. From there, we'll board another Zodiac boat and sail across the water to the shore on the other side. Once we've stepped off the boat, we'll set off on another hike, this time with a distance of 2.8 miles (4.5 km). We'll walk through an enchanting forest of hundred-year-old lenga beech trees and a glacial valley.

Next, we'll walk to the Lake Frías Superior area. This spectacular lake is covered with icebergs, and from here we'll gaze out at incredible panoramic views of the Dickson, Cubo and Grande glaciers.

While we admire the views, we'll take a break to have a picnic lunch. Our lunch will include ham, cheese, lettuce and tomato sandwiches, a cereal bar, dried fruits, alfajor (a sweet treat), sweets, fruit, mineral water and orange juice.

After fuelling up, we'll make our way back to the starting point by boat and by taking the first hiking route once more. From there, we'll return to your hotel in El Calafate and arrive after 12 hours together.
