Why Visit Grindelwald-First

An Alpine Adventure
Leaving from the Grindelwald Firstbahn station, this cable car will take you to the summit of First, a spectacular alpine mountain, in just 25 minutes. You'll enjoy once-in-a-lifetime views of the Swiss landscape from the sky-high altitude of 2,168 meters (7,112 feet) above sea level!
Between Grindelwald and First Mountain, the cable car stops at the Bort and Schreckfeld stations. Once you reach the summit, you can enjoy the breathtaking views.
First Cliff Walk by Tissot
Your ticket also includes admission to the First Cliff Walk by Tissot. This observation deck offers a panoramic terrace suspended 45 meters (147 feet) above the canyon, allowing you to take in the expansive Alpine peaks.
The viewpoint, one of the most famous in Switzerland, also offers fantastic views of other mountain peaks, like the Reeti, Faulhorn, and Wetterhorn.

Several daily cable cars connect Grindelwald with First Mountain. The timetable is as follows for the 2023-2024 season:
December 16, 2023 - January 12, 2024: Ascent 8 am - 3:45 pm | Descent 8 am- 4:15 pm
January 13, 2024 - April 1, 2024: Ascent 8 am - 4:15 pm | Descent 8 am- 4:45 pm
April 2, 2024 - May 8, 2024: Ascent 9 am - 4 pm | Descent 9 am- 4:35 pm
May 9, 2024 - September 15, 2024: Ascent 8 am - 5:30 pm | Descent 8 am- 6 pm
September 16, 2024 - November 3, 2024: Ascent 8 am - 5 pm | Descent 8:30 am- 4:30 pm
First Mountain Adventure Activities
