Discover the origins of Guanajuato on this tour to Plazuelas Archaeological Site. Delve into the area's pre-Hispanic history and visit one of the most important tequila distilleries in Mexico.
Plazuelas Archaeological Site Tour
After picking you up from your hotel in Guanajuato at 10:30 am, we'll head to Plazuelas, the most important archaeological site in Guanajuato. Here, we'll learn all about the pre-Hispanic architecture of the civilisations that populated this state as we try to decipher the symbolism of their carved stones.
Walking through the historic structures of Plazuelas, we'll try to imagine what life was like for the first settlers of Guanajuato back in the 7th century. During our tour of the 34-hectare archaeological complex, we'll get to see the ball game court, temples, pyramids and buildings where the high officials met.
Afterwards, we'll head to one of the most important tequila distilleries in Mexico, Corralejo. We'll have the opportunity to learn about the production process of the country's national drink and enjoy a tequila tasting. Let's toast!
Finally, we'll head back to the hotels in Guanajuato, concluding the excursion at 6:30 pm.
