On this boat trip, we'll take you on a whale watching experience in Hervey Bay, in the waters of the Great Sandy Marine Park. One of the best places in northern Australia to see humpback whales!

Activity Details

Would you like to see nature in its purest form? We'll meet at number 17 of Buccaneer Dr to begin this exciting whale watching activity in Hervey Bay. This is one of the best places in northern Australia to see these impressive mammals!

Once we're all together, we'll board a bus that will take us to the harbour. There, we'll board a yacht and start sailing through the waters of Hervey Bay, specifically the Great Sandy Marine Park, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2009. Not only that, but this area is located on the west coast of K'gari, a World Heritage Site. Can you imagine why? We're about to find out!

To start the day off right, we'll serve you a delicious breakfast on board consisting of coffee, tea, pastries and seasonal fruit. During the crossing, we'll enjoy the fascinating natural scenery that creates one of the most incredible marine habitats north of Brisbane, making it the perfect place to spot humpback whales. To make this an unforgettable experience, we'll anchor in the best spots to catch a glimpse of these marine animals, which, with luck, will swim very close to us.

In the middle of the day, we'll enjoy a buffet lunch, the ideal time to refuel and continue enjoying the fascinating 360 degree views that the catamaran offers. During the boat ride, we'll also be able to see other species of animals that live in the waters of Hervey Bay, such as dolphins, sea turtles and even numerous seabirds.

After spending an unforgettable day among the whales and dolphins, we'll return to the mainland to take the bus back to the meeting point, where we'll finish the tour 6 hours later.

Whale Watching

The coast of Hervey Bay is a strategic place for whale watching. However, animals are unpredictable, so the amount we see, or whether we see them at all, will depend on a number of factors, such as the weather at the time and the breeding and calving seasons of the different species.
