La Encantada 3 Day Tour
Day 1: La Paz - Yolosita - La Encantada
At 7:30 am, we'll come and pick you up from your hotel in La Paz and board the bus. We'll start making our way up to an altitude of almost 14,800 feet (4,500 metres), from which we'll begin a hike in the Bolivian mountains. During this trip, you'll be able to see the famous Death Road. Did you know that it was once considered the most dangerous route in the world?
We'll then make a stop in the small village of Yolosita to have lunch. Afterwards, we'll continue on to the La Encantada reserve, a place that holds great environmental significance. Once we've arrived, we'll have dinner and settle in for the night.
Day 2: La Encantada
After having breakfast, we'll spend our second day exploring the natural paradise of La Encantada. We'll go on a guided visit through its coca leaf and coffee plantations before taking a break for a traditional and organic lunch with the farmers who live in this eco-park.
In the afternoon, we'll take a walk through the La Encantada rainforest. We'll stroll among its streams and waterfalls as we discover its incredible biodiversity. About nine different species of butterfly live here, seven of which are currently in danger of extinction. After this relaxing walk, we'll stop at one of the natural pools to take a dip before returning to the lodge to have dinner and spend the night.
Day 3: La Encantada - La Paz
Rise and shine! We'll get up bright and early so we can fit in one final hike after breakfast. Our hike will take us through the jungle to the Jucumari viewpoint, where we'll look out at a breathtaking view of the La Encantada eco-park. We'll continue through an untouched part of the forest, where we'll be able to admire Bolivian nature in its purest form.
Next, we'll head back to the reserve to taste some organic products: coffee, honey and fresh fruit. We'll then have lunch and return to La Paz, where we should arrive at around 6:30 pm.
Accommodation and meals
This tour includes two nights' full-board accommodation in the Ecolodge La Encantada.
Breakfast includes juice, fruit, cereal, honey, coffee, bread and eggs. Lunches and dinners will have a first and second course and a soft drink. Everything is made organically at the reserve.
