Laguna del Laja National Park & Antuco Tour

We'll start our excursion in the direction of the Laguna del Laja National Park. In this beautiful natural area, which belongs to the Nevados del Chillán-Laguna del Laja Biosphere Reserve, we'll see large amounts of endemic wildlife. Under the Sierra Velluda and Antuco volcanoes, the native flora extends as far as the eye can see.

The first stop will be at the Trubunleo waterfall, whose waters come from the Sierra Velluda glacier. We'll continue the route next to the Laja River lagoon, which is one of the largest natural reservoirs in Chile. Very close to this aquifer is the Las Chilcas trail, where you can discover the local nature on your own.

The trail runs along the foot of the Antuco volcano ski resort, where you can have lunch. And if you take the tour during the austral winter, the more adventurous can enjoy a thrilling snowmobile ride - a great adrenaline rush!

Finally, from the National Park we'll head to the nearby village of Antuco to learn about the history of this small Andean town. In 2005, the town witnessed a tragedy in which 46 Chilean army soldiers died while on manoeuvres in the region's mountains.

Finally, 10 hours after the pickup we'll return to the starting point.

Schedules & Options

When you make your reservation, you can choose one of the following options:

Tour with transfers from Los Angeles

If you choose this option, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Los Angeles between 7 and 7:30 am. We'll conclude the tour by returning you to your accommodation.

Tour with pickup at a pickup point in Salto del Laja

If you choose this option, we'll pick you up between 6:15 and 6:30 am at Salto del Laja. You can choose one of the following meeting points:

• Hotel Salto del Laja: we'll pick you up at the car park of its restaurant.
• Hotel Los Manantiales

At the end of the excursion, we'll take you back to the meeting point of your choice.

Entrance fees not included
