Lake Königssee and Berchtesgaden Salt Mine Day Trip

  • English English
  • 10 hours

Discover one of the prettiest lakes in Germany: Lake Königssee. Not only will you see this Bavarian treasure, but you'll also visit the Berchtesgaden Salt mine; one of the oldest in the region.

Lake Königssee and the Berchtesgaden Salt Mine

We'll meet at the meeting point in Munich and then head south-east, almost until the Austrian border, where Lake Königssee can be found. En route, you'll be able to take in the beautiful Bavarian scenery.

As soon as we get to Lake Königssee, we'll board a boat (ticket not included) and enjoy a 35-minute sail around some of Germany's most breathtaking natural landscapes. Nestled in the heart of the Bavarian Alps, Lake Königssee has crystal clear waters that are looked upon by St. Bartholomew's Church. To make this trip even more special, there will even be live music on board: a once in a lifetime experience!

We'll then return to solid ground, specifically at St. Bartholomew. This peninsula, with a namesake church, is located in the Berchtesgaden National Park, as is the lake. We'll explore the area for a little over an hour, and you'll have enough time to take some great photos of the surroundings.

We'll return to our vehicle to take us to the second part of the activity: the Berchtesgaden Salt Mine. With over 500 years of history, these mines were a key element of the country's economic development.

With head into the salt mine (entry not included) and explore this Bavarian treasure before arriving back in Munich at approximately 6:00 pm.
