I have lacked a little time in Miyama .. but it is normal that it is only an hour, since it gets dark (December)

The Amanohashidate viewpoint, the picturesque village of Mayama and the floating houses of Ine. This excursion from Osaka will take you around some of the most charming corners of Kyoto.

The tour meets in the Namba bus station early in the morning, but the early start is well worth it, in order to make the most of this jam packed day. We then climb aboard to leave the city behind, to Kyoto prefecture, to the north of Osaka.

After about two hours we'll arrive at the first stop on our excursion: Amanohashidate. Once there, we climb on board a funicular railway to climb the mountain, where one of the most stunning viewpoints in all Japan waits for you, with breathtaking views sure to stay with you as long as you live. From here you'll see the Miyazu bay, with its famous spit of land covered in Japanese pines connecting one bank to the other.

We'll then have lunch in a local restaurant, taking advantage of the famous cuisine in the region. We'll enjoy a buffet lunch full of delicious seafood.

After lunch, we'll make our way to the coastal town of Ine, known for its “funayas”, wooden floating houses. Here we'll climb aboard a boat and take a relaxing cruise around these curious marine houses. Can you imagine living on water?! We'll let you in on the day to day life of the residents of this most unusual neighbourhood.

And, as a final touch to the excursion, we'll visit Miyama, an area of rice paddies also known as 'The Beautiful Mountain', and here we'll head to Kayabuki no Sato, a little town known for its little straw roofed houses. On this final part of the day, we'll learn about the rural life of these farming communities in Japan.

With an unforgettable day over, we return to the departure point in Osaka.
