Punta del Este Free Tour
Tour Details
If you've just arrived in Punta del Este, and you'd like to discover its best tourist attractions, this tour is for you! At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Punta del Este Yacht Club and begin this free tour that will allow you to fully explore the charm of this Uruguayan city.
To start this free tour, we'll visit the port of Punta del Este, one of the most famous places in the coastal town and the best place to see sea lions playing on the pier, a scene that contrasts with the luxurious yachts moored in the harbour.
Afterwards, we'll head to the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria. This unique parish church, with its striking blue façade, features a bronze statue that was recovered from one of the many ships that sank off the coast of Punta del Este. We'll tell you all about the maritime history of this area of Uruguay, as well as its religious fervour.
The next stop, as you might expect, will be at the lighthouse and the corner of Cuatro Mares, a spot that is home to a very curious legend. Would you like to find out what it is? You'll love it! We'll continue the free tour by visiting Gran Bretaña Square and its memorial to the Battle of Punta del Este in 1939, where British and German ships clashed off the Uruguayan coast.
We'll walk to the Artisan Fair and Gorlero Avenue, one of the most important shopping areas in Punta del Este. We'll also explore the promenade and reach La Mano, a sculpture that has become a symbol of the city since its inauguration.
Finally, we'll say goodbye near the beach and end this free tour after a total of 2.5 hours.
