Get to know the charming towns of the Rías Baixas with this day trip from Sanxenxo. Enjoy a boat cruise, wine tasting, mussel tasting, and much more.
Rías Baixas Day Trip
At 9 am we'll pick you up from Avenida Luis Rocafort and leave Sanxenxo behind, heading towards the city of Pontevedra. The journey will take us less than 30 minutes.
We'll start the morning with a guided tour of Pontevedra, getting to admire the façades of its most emblematic monuments. We'll see the Church of the Virgen Peregrina, the ruins of the Convent of Santo Domingo, and the gardens of Ferrería Square... don't forget your camera!
After exploring Pontevedra, we'll return to the minibus and head to Combarro. Legends of witches and a strong seafaring tradition come together to make this town a truly intriguing place to visit. As we stroll through its streets we'll come across the famous hórreos, or grain stores, for which the region is known. We'll tell you about their history and their significance within the landscape of the Rías Baixas.
Our next stop will be the island of La Toxa. There, we'll see a unique shell-covered chapel and take a boat trip along the Arousa estuary. During the cruise, we'll enjoy incredible views of the coast as well as tasting some delicious mussels accompanied by local wine. What's more, we'll get to see how mussels are cultivated in the region.
After the boat trip, you'll have an hour and a half of free time to get lunch in O Grove. After lunch, we'll visit an Albariño winery in Cambados, where we'll learn all about wine production in the region and enjoy a tasting of three varieties of wine.
We'll finish the excursion to the Rías Baixas arriving back in Sanxenxo at 6:30 pm.
