Day 1: Tunis – El Djem – Sfax – Tozeur

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tunis and head towards the south. Our first stop, after a 2.5-hour journey, will be in El Djem, where we'll spend between 1 and 1.5 hours. Did you know that it's one of the best preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world, and the third largest of the Roman Empire? You'll be amazed!

After this immersion in ancient history, we'll continue by car for an hour to the city of Sfax, where we'll stop for lunch at the Les Oliviers Palace 5-star hotel. We'll enjoy a menu including salad, soup, brik and escalope or chicken. All accompanied by mineral water.

In the afternoon, we'll continue the route in Tozeur, a charming oasis in the middle of the desert, where we'll arrive after about 4 hours. There, we'll stay in a 4-star hotel, where you'll be able to relax. In the evening, we'll enjoy a buffet-style dinner—delicious!

Day 2: Tozeur – Chebika – Tamerza – Mides – Ong Jemel - Douz

After a complete dinner of coffee, milk, eggs, bread, cheese and juice, we'll set off in the direction of the natural wonders of south-western Tunisia. In barely an hour, we'll reach our first stop: the Chebika waterfalls, where we'll spend about an hour exploring this oasis that emerges like a mirage among the arid mountains.

We'll continue on to Tamerza, another impressive oasis, which we'll explore for 30 minutes, before heading to the canyons of Mides, a scenic jewel sculpted by water.

After another hour, we'll head into the desert to get to Ong Jemel, a mythical natural setting featured in Star Wars. Here, we'll spend 2 hours exploring its unique rock formations, feeling like we're in a galaxy far, far away.

We'll return to Tozeur to have lunch, enjoying a traditional menu with soup, salad, brik, couscous and fresh fruit accompanied by a comforting mint tea. Feeling refuelled, we'll head for Douz, the gateway to the Sahara desert. We'll arrive after a 2.5-hour drive. On the way, we'll cross the spectacular salt lake of Chott el Djerid, which has other-wordly landscapes.

Upon arrival in Douz, we'll be welcomed at a campsite in the middle of the desert, where an unforgettable night under the stars awaits you. We'll enjoy a traditional dinner of gargoulette, meat cooked in earthenware pots, sand bread and fruit, followed by an evening around the fire to the rhythm of Berber drums—a magical moment!

Day 3: Douz - Matmata - Tunis

After breakfast in the campsite, which will include sand bread, dates, olive oil, honey and other local products, we'll head to Matmata, where we'll arrive after about 1.5 hours. This town is famous for its troglodyte dwellings, carved directly into the rock and still inhabited by people. Completely unique architecture!

We'll visit one of these houses to learn about the Berber way of life and then stop for a lunch of couscous accompanied by soup, salad, seasonal fruit and a final mint tea.

Finally, we'll get back on the road and head to Tunis, which will take about 5 hours. We'll arrive at your accommodation between 3 and 5 pm, saying our goodbyes and bringing this adventure to an end.

Accommodation

This activity includes 2 nights of accommodation at the following accommodations:

• The first night at the Ksar Rouge 4-star hotel in Tozeur. The indicated prices are per person in a double or triple room.
• The second night will be at a campsite in the Douz Desert. The haima tents have electricity for charging devices and a shared sanitary block with toilets and showers.

Under no circumstances will you have to share the tents with strangers. We offer single, double, triple, and family tents. If a reservation is made for one person, a single supplement will be applied, as well as if someone in the group wishes to sleep in a haima and a single room.

Children aged 2-12 will receive a discount on the adult price, but they will have to share the room with their parents or companions and will sleep in an extra bed.
