Tour Details

At the appointed time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Valladolid. Once we are all together, we'll start the journey that will take us into the thick jungle to discover the archaeological site of Coba, an ancient Maya trading city surrounded by centuries-old roots and echoes of a glorious past.

Upon arrival, after a pleasant 50-minute ride, we'll begin a hiking route through the sacbes, the white roads that connected distant cities and are a true reflection of an amazing commercial network. Afterward, we'll get on bicycles for a ride to reach an ancient Maya Calendar, whose astronomical knowledge still amazes the modern world.

We'll stop in front of Nohoch Mul, the tallest pyramid in the northern Yucatan Peninsula, which still majestically watches over the secrets of the ancient civilization. The tour will also take us to the Macaxoc, a group of about 20 stelae covered with glyphs. When we arrive at Stela 1, we'll marvel at its 313 hieroglyphs on its four sides. These inscriptions will tell us about the Maya cosmogony and a mythical cycle that ended in 2012.

After this immersion in history, we'll head to the Multun-Ha Cenote, a subway mirror of clear waters that seems to lead to the heart of the Earth. There, we'll take a dip and prepare to enjoy a lunch of delicious local dishes that may vary according to season.

With our appetite satiated, we'll head to Punta Laguna, also called Otoch Ma'ax yete Kooh, which means “home of the spider monkey and the puma”. This is a sanctuary where the jungle teems with life, in particular the spider monkeys. Upon arrival, we'll have the opportunity to participate in a Maya ceremony that will connect us spiritually with the environment. Later, we'll abseil down into the bowels of a cenote, imagining the gods of Xibalba in the depths.

The day will continue with a zip-line over a calm water lake, and then we'll let ourselves be rocked in a relaxing canoe ride, surrounded by the mystical beauty of the Punta Laguna reserve. The perfect finishing touch!

Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Valladolid and say goodbye after 9.5 hours of excursion.
