Discover the magic of Jordan on this four-day tour of its natural and historical treasures: explore Petra, the Dead Sea and the Wadi Rum desert.
Jordan 4 Day Tour: Petra, Wadi Rum & Dead Sea
Day 1: Amman – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Shoubak – Petra
On the first day of your four-day adventure around Jordan, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Amman and head south in the direction of two important historical locations: Madaba and Mount Nebo. Do you know the link that these two destinations have to the Bible? We'll then continue onwards through history, visiting the Montreal Castle located in Shoubak, where we'll get to delve into the Templar legacy of this area of the Middle East. After a break during which you'll have time to eat lunch (not included) in Shoubak, we'll make our way to the emblematic ancient city of Petra. Here, we'll settle into our hotel to enjoy dinner before spending the night, ready for the next day's excursions.
Day 2: Petra
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we'll embark on a complete guided tour of the Petra archaeological site. As we explore the ancient Nabatean capital, our expert English-speaking guide will explain all about the history of the fascinating city. We'll visit the most important sites in the complex, including the Obelisk Tomb and the iconic Al-Khazneh: the Treasury of Petra, a breathtaking monument located in the Siq Gorge. To complete our visit, we'll explore the old theatre and the Ad Deir Monastery, whose rock-carved architecture will leave you speechless. At the end of the day, we'll return to the hotel to eat and relax.
Day 3: Petra – Little Petra – Wadi Rum
Having had breakfast at the hotel, we'll head to the archaeological site known as Little Petra. Amongst the ruins of this ancient city, another Nabatean metropolis also called Siq al-Barid, or the Cold Canyon, we'll see a vast complex of mausoleums and other buildings carved into the sandstone. Leaving the historic settlement behind, we'll delve deep into the arid landscapes of southern Jordan, where we'll enjoy a 4x4 tour of the Wadi Rum desert. Our route, lasting approximately two hours, will take us through the breathtakingly beautiful rocky valley, whose spectacular pink sands have captivated numerous explorers and adventurers throughout history. Day three will come to an end staying in a camp in the desert, a unique immersive experience in Jordan's natural landscapes. We'll indulge in a delicious dinner served under the star-speckled velvet night sky before resting ready for our final day.
Day 4: Wadi Rum – Dead Sea – Amman
We'll eat our breakfast in our camp in Wadi Rum while watching an unforgettable sunrise over the desert. After admiring the enchanting colours of daybreak, we'll head to the north of Jordan to spend a relaxing day of free time at the Dead Sea. Here, you'll have the opportunity to float in the waters of this great inland lake. Its uniquely high salt concentration allows you to lie in the waters - sunbathing or even reading - without having to know how to swim! At the end of the afternoon, we'll make our way back to Amman, after four incredible days making the most of our time in Jordan.
