Aveiro Food Tour
Meet your guide at 4 pm in Praça Joaquim Melo Freitas in Aveiro, where we'll begin our three hour food tour of the Portuguese city.
Aveiro is famous for its Modernist and Art Nouveau style buildings, and we'll get to appreciate the city's architecture on our first tasting stop in the charming historic courtyard of the Museum of Art Nouveau.
Continuing onwards, we'll head to Praça do Peixe, the square home to Aveiro's historic fish market, a beautiful building where fishmongers have gathered to sell their wares since the 18th century. We'll then head to Largo da Apresentação, where we'll taste the city's famous bacalao, or codfish, accompanied by a glass of wine.
Reaching Marquês de Pombal Square, we'll make a visit to the café Marquês Lounge & Food, where we'll get to indulge in delicious squid washed down with a beer or a glass of wine. After eating, we'll continue to the Rossio Garden to taste a typical local meat dish called prego.
Our tour will come to an end at 7 pm back at the original departure point.
