Simi Palace Tour
We'll meet at 10 am at the stairs on Largo Ignazio Chiurlia street. From here we'll go to one of the most notable buildings in the centre of Bari, Palazzo Simi.
The tour will start by going through the history of the palace, which was originally an aristocratic residence from the mid 16th Century until the 20th Century. There is currently a History museum within the building, containing a variety of artefacts from different periods with which we'll learn about intriguing facts surrounding protohistory, prehistory and the Mycenean period.
As we go down to the palace basement we'll find the remains of a Byzantine church from the 9th Century. Here we'll learn more about its history and the hidden ancient Roman house, as well as other secrets you'll discover on the tour.
We'll finish the tour after an hour and a half at the palace museum main entrance.
