Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Hanga Roa to set off to Rapa Nui National Park. Some of the most iconic and mystical landscapes of this remote corner on the Pacific await on this tour. Get ready for an unforgettable trip!

Our first stop will be at Vinapu. For 30 to 45 minutes, we'll tour this archaeological complex known for the precision of its stone walls, surprisingly similar to Incan carvings. Did you know this similarity has brought theories about Precolombian contact among cultures? You'll also see fallen moai and ceremonial structures that will show you the ancient splendor of Rapa Nui.

Next, we'll head to the imposing Rano Kau Volcano, whose extinct crater is home to an interior lagoon surrounded by endemic vegetation. From its viewpoints, you'll enjoy one of the most breathtaking views of Easter Island. You'll be amazed!

Very close, we'll find Orongo, a ceremonial village linked to the Tangata manu (“bird-man”) ritual. Here, we'll embark on a 1-hour and 45-minute hike among petroglyphs, remains of traditional houses, and abrupt cliffs that peer to the ocean.

From here, we'll step into the heart of the island to visit Ahu Akivi, known for its seven moai looking to the sea, something uncommon on Easter Island. Tradition says that they represent the explorers sent by the legendary king Hotu Matu'a. We'll stay here for about 30 minutes to learn its history and admire these majestic moia.

Our next stop is Ana Te Pahu, the largest cave on the island, made up by ancient lava tubes. It's also known as the “Cave of the Banana Trees,” and inside, you'll discover how it was used as a refuge and place of worship by the island's ancient inhabitants. It's a place full of mystery and life!

Lastly, we'll go to Puna Pau, a small quarry of red volcanic rock. Here, the pukao, the ceremonial headdresses that crowned some of the statues, were carved. We'll walk in this unique site as you enjoy the scenic views of Hanga Roa and learn about the incredible skills of the Rapa Niu people.

Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Hanga Roa, where we'll conclude this day trip after a total of 6 hours.
